Transport
Pupils attending Mary Astell Academy are encouraged to travel independently to school whenever this is appropriate. We encourage pupils to walk to school if they live within walking distance, and we provide bicycle racks for pupils who wish to cycle to school.
We are able to apply to the Civic Centre for a Free School Travel Permit if you believe you or your child may fit the eligibility criteria. In order to do so, we will need a colour passport-sized photograph of the pupil’s face with the pupil’s name and school clearly written on the back here. The Civic Centre may require proof of your eligibility.
We have a pedestrian gate located to the south of site on Linhope Road and a further one next to our vehicle entrance. Bus stops are close by, with regular buses to and from the city centre. For Parents/Carers driving their pupils to and from school, pupils can be dropped off and collected on site, using the buzzer system at the vehicle gate.
