From Plot to Plate: A Garden Harvest like Never Before
Return to Latest News
All of the hard work that Mary Astell pupils have put into the school garden is really paying off - they are enjoying a bumper harvest. After months of planting, watering, and weeding, the garden is now bursting with fresh produce. Plums, tomatoes, and runner beans have been picked in abundance, and there's still more to come with butternut squash and courgettes continuing to grow nicely.
The pupils have been hands-on throughout the process, from sowing seeds to caring for the plants as they grew. They've also spent time rejuvenating the garden area itself, including refurbishing the raised beds, which are now looking better than ever. Their efforts have transformed the space into a vibrant, productive area full of colour and life.
It's been fantastic to see the pupils working together outdoors, learning about where food comes from and how to grow it sustainably. The sense of pride in what they've achieved is clear to see.
And the best part? The produce they've grown will soon be making its way into the food technology lessons. The pupils will be using the fruits (and veg) of their labour to cook up some delicious dishes - a true garden-to-table experience.
Well done to everyone involved; their green fingers have made a real difference.
