Mary Astell Academy is delighted to be the first UK Alternative Provision school to achieve the Bronze Inclusive Attendance KITE Mark Standard.
Since November 2024, the Academy has made visible progress that has contributed to gaining this award. This includes a 10% improvement in the Attendance Rate, strengthening of the culture of collective responsibility, engaging all staff in CPD, implementing a four-stage strategic improvement plan, and placing children and young people's (CYP) voices at the heart of what they do.
The Inclusive Attendance KITE Mark Programme is a prestigious certification that conveys a school's commitment to attendance. A school must meet the four criteria to achieve this: attendance being a high priority, having a clear and effective attendance strategy, demonstrating incremental attendance gains and use of attendance data to support identified CYP, and key stakeholders, responsibilities, challenge, and accountability.
