On Friday, 24th October, the atmosphere at West Denton Social Club was electric, with over 400 spectators gathering to witness a thrilling bout for the England School Boys Champion belt. Representing Johnson's Boxing Gym, NE15, Alfie Molloy - Year 11 at Mary Astell Academy - stepped into the ring to face Colin Spencer in a highly anticipated showdown.
The fight consisted of three two-minute rounds, and from the opening bell, Alfie demonstrated sharp technique, relentless energy, and impressive composure. While Colin Spencer put up a determined and spirited fight, Alfie proved to be the stronger competitor, dominating all three rounds with precision and power.
The judges unanimously awarded Alfie the win, crowning him the new England Schoolboy Champion.
Speaking after the fight, Alfie said, "I'm really proud to have won. All the training I've done has paid off, and it feels amazing to be champion."
