Learning Where We Live: KS3 Local Area Research Project
Return to Latest News
KS3 pupils have been developing their understanding of the local area in Humanities lessons this week. As part of the work, pupils analysed maps to identify important features, including housing, services and transport links. They examined how roads, railways and other transport routes connect the local area to the wider region, helping them to understand why locations develop in particular ways.
The project encouraged pupils to build map‑reading skills, and make links between geography, history and everyday life, bringing their local environment to life in the classroom.
