Leadership Update: New Acting Chief Executive Officer Takes Up Post

Prosper Learning Trust is pleased to announce an important change in executive leadership as the organisation enters its next phase of growth and development.

After five years of dedicated service, Chris Richardson retired as Chief Executive Officer on 31 August 2026. During his tenure, Chris led the Trust through a period of significant expansion, strengthened strategic direction and continued improvement across all schools. His leadership has been central to shaping a resilient, values‑driven organisation with children and young people firmly at the heart of every decision.

Reflecting on his time with the Trust, Chris said: “Leading Prosper Learning Trust has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I am incredibly proud of our staff, our pupils and our families, and of everything we have achieved together over the last five years.”

From 1 September 2026, Gary Wright has been appointed Interim CEO. Gary previously served as School Improvement Director, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening teaching quality, developing curriculum pathways and supporting leadership teams across the Trust. His extensive experience in SEND education and his deep understanding of the Trust’s vision and values will ensure continuity and strong leadership during this transition period.

Gary shared: “I am honoured to step into the role of Interim CEO and to continue building on the strong foundations Chris has established. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional support and opportunities for every child and young person across our schools.”
