Pink and Blue Day 2023

Monday 22^nd May 2023 marks the 6^th anniversary of the devastating Manchester Arena terror attack, a tragedy that claimed the lives of so many in our region, and changed the North East forever.  From this tragedy, the Chloe & Liam Together Trust was born, a charity that supports young people living in the North East to reach their fully potential through the love of sport and performance. The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust has given out over £250,000 in bursaries to children excelling in sport and theatre performance. 

This year, Mary Astell Academy will be supporting the hard work the Chloe & Liam Together Trust do and hosting our very own Pink and Blue Day on Monday 22^nd May. This will be a non-uniform day for ALL staff and pupils and the theme will be pink and blue in honour of the charity. Please see posters dotted around the school.

We will be collapsing the afternoon timetable from 1pm-2:20pm with a mix of activities for staff and pupils to take part in, these include:

• Bake sale in the theme of pink and blue, with tea, hot chocolate and juice
• A 5-a-side football match with mixed teams of staff and pupils
• A video presentation in the lunch hall

Wristbands and pens are also available for £1 each - please contact the school for these.

All donations to this amazing cause, no matter how small, would really help and all proceeds will go to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust in memory of those we lost in this tragedy, especially the two closest to our hearts.
